投诉

Loads induced at the steering wheel through pushing and pulling actions may cause creaking and cracking noises in the mechanical steering column.

原因

Insufficient grease lubrication in the clamping area of the mechanical steering column.

补救

Grease the clamping area.

1 Create access to the steering column (see picture 1).

2. Open the steering column clamps (picture 1 / illustration A).

3. Re-grease the area/gap marked in red (picture 2/3).

4. Distribute the grease by operating the height adjustment.

5. Carry out a noise test and repeat the greasing process if necessary.

6. Remove any excess grease.

7. Install all components that were removed.
