The MBUX multimedia system only boots up as far as the "Mercedes-Benz or AMG" logo and remains

in this state, or always re-starts after reaching the "Mercedes-Benz/Maybach or AMG" logo.

Note regarding complaint:

-The "HDD smart-data" in the control unit log cannot be read out (see Attachment "HDD_smart_data_missing.png").

-The MBUX software item numbers are not displayed in the quick test and the control unit log (see attached pass images "SW_part_number-existing" and "SW_Gutbild_good_image.png").

-The MBUX control unit log does not show a value for "E-Stand (Only for development)" but instead just a "?" is shown (see Attachment "No_E_Stand.png).

Note: The display showing free memory space "not OK" 0.00 MByte can be ignored and is no indication for replacement of the hard drive.

If an update is not possible, or the problem remains after the update, proceed

with the next steps.

Replacement of internal hard drive.

The hard drive is available separately as a replacement part in various versions (see parts note).

Procedure: The hard drive is replaced with the MBUX multimedia system A26/17 removed.

When doing so, observe the ESD regulations (see WIS reference AH54.00-P-0001-01A).

The replacement procedure is described in AR82.85-P-1102A.

After replacing the hard drive, follow the startup instructions from XENTRY Diagnosis (teach-in processes)

After completing the commissioning process and the map update, check the Linguatronic for proper operation.

If the Linguatronic does not respond, then perform a "User Data Reset" through -> Home->System->Reset.

Another possible remedy:

Check the values of the hard drive using the control unit log. The values "ReallocatedSectorsID05." and "PendingSectorsIDC5." can be found under "Memory" (USB storage device/Hard disk) (see attachment). Both of these values must be less than 5. If one of the two values is greater than or equal to 5 (PendingSectorsIDC5:8), the hard drive of the MBUX multimedia system can be replaced.
