Issue:
SIM card unaviabel or unrecognized reminded on touch display screen when insert a SIM card.
Cause:
The SIM slot PIN broken caused by misuse due to the user did not follow the installation instruction.
1. the user inserted the SIM card with wrong direction when install or uninstall SIM card due to they did not follow the instruction in owner's manual.
2. The SIM card slot only for Micro_SIM card, its PINs will be broken if use any other separated SIM card such as Nano card with adaptor.
Action:
1. Actions are as follows:
a. Smptom confirmation: SIM card unrecognized or unavailable.
b. Diagnosis as UIP SIM card slot malfunction.
c. Inspect if any damage or broken on SIM slot port? (see judgment method in attached 1)
- If yes, negotiate with the customer that improper use causes failure, non-product quality problems, no warranty.
- If no, please follow the next step.
d. Communicate with the user to disassemble the SIM slot and send the pictures of PINs to the email address: CJLR_Tech_Service@cheryjaguarlandrover.com (the instruction of disassemble see attachment)
e. Manufacturer will judge if it is misuse or abuse.
-if judge as abuse by the user , please negotiate with customer and reject the claim.
-if not,  repair and will PRR the part for further analysis.
Note: Only after the manufacturer has analyzed and determined that the damage is not caused by improper use, then can follow-up repair be carried out and a claim be submitted.
2. If the fault is caused by improper use, the warranty is not available and please remind the customer:
a. The SIM slot only for Micro_SIM card with JLR standard, not allow to use any type of sepatated SIM card such as Nano card with adaptor.
b. Be sure to buy SIM card from official sources, or it will break the PINs inside of SIM slot.
c. Not follow instructions during installation and removal can also result in damage to PIN pins inside the card slot (such as the wrong insertion direction).
