Title Single Key Fob Supply from Factory - PDI Procedure

Symptom 000101 Diagnostic Concerns

Issue:
Jaguar Land Rover is experiencing severe shortages of integrated circuits (micro chips) which has triggered emergency response actions including building and shipping vehicles with one electronic key fob as opposed to two. This JLR Board of Management decision allows retailers to still fulfil customer orders but recognises the need to ensure when available a second key fob is provided and paired to those vehicles affected.

Cause:
This is a temporary measure. However, the duration of one key fob installed remains unclear. There will be an update by way of a service action for all affected vehicles to ensure a second key is installed, this will be the subject of a further service communication.

Any changes to this will be communicated as needed.

Action:
To allow the PDI process to be completed, all vehicles supplied with one key fob can only have the TOPIx Cloud based PDI routine completed.

DO NOT attempt to complete a PDI with PATHFINDER for vehicles with only one key fob.

Details on how to conduct TOPIx Cloud actions are found on TOPIx under, Diagnostics, General, Enhanced Diagnosis and Testing. TAUG - TOPIx Cloud Diagnostics - Toolbox and Applications User Guide.

Caution:

Use of PATHFINDER PDI for vehicles with only one key supplied from the vehicle assembly plant is not permitted, it could lead to vehicle immobilisation and extensive repairs as a result.

Any retailer who uses PATHFINDER PDI after this instruction date and time may have any costs associated with additional updates or repairs for vehicle where Pathfinder used debited to them.
